Barcelona is the likely destination for Lewandowski, money is the problem however
On June 6th Robert Lewandowski made it clear that his preferred destination is FC Barcelona.
However due the Blaugrana’s recent financial situation over the past two seasons they might have to sell some of their players such as Memphis Depay, Martin Braithwaite, Frenkie de Jong and other players who are not part of the club’s project or who don’t get playing time.
The Catalan club is going to have to pull a few strings to figure out how they will afford a player like Lewandowski and according to Front Office Sports they $1.56 million in debt.
This debt comes from player salaries, money owed to banks and also the situation from the pandemic and even in March 2021 Barcelona was declared bankrupt.
