France vs Netherlands as it happened
France managed to edge Holland 1-0 in the Semi Finals of the Womens Euros. Les Bleus managed to secure a place in the semi final through a Eva Perisset penalty. Van Domselaar put in an amazing performance for the Dutch and silenced France for most of the match. Both France and Netherlands went into the match not losing a single match in the Euros and the pressure was on both to deliver. Netherlands had won the previous Euros so they were favored to edge France. However France did not let the fact that they were underdogs affect them. France had previously been knocked out of the Euros in the last eight for two consecutive times.

France were knocked out by England, Denmark and by Norway and England in the group stage. France will be hoping to make it to the final for the first time since the tournament was founded in 1969. Les Bleus will be extremely happy that their drought of not reaching the semi finals has ended. France will be hoping to add a first ever euros to their trophy cabinet and they have a 3/1 odd to do so. England lead the way however with and 11/4 chance to win.

France will now take on Germany who have won all their matches in the Euros. The Germans are eight time champions of the Womens Euros and pose a threat to France. Germany has eleven goals in the euros whereas France has nine. Mannschaft has not conceded a single goal in this whole tournament and it will take a lot for France to be able to break down a resolute German defense. France’s Geyoro is the top scorer for France in this tournament with 3 goals and the 4th top scorer. They will be relying on her to take France past the mighty Germans. Alexandra Popp will be hoping to add to her four goals in this tournament and take over Beth Mead. France will be hoping to add a first ever tournament to their name. However Germany is more than capable of making a might statement in this fixture.
