What the Europa League brought this week
Futbol Mundial brings you some of the most exciting action from the Europa League. They were some exciting games played over in the Europa League on Thursday and many goals were scored. Real Betis, Real Sociedad, Freiburg and Arsenal all have perfect record so far in the Europa League. The top three games this week in the Europa League was Roma vs Real Betis, Sheriff vs Real Sociedad and Arsenal vs Bodo/Glimt.
Real Sociedad secures a comfortable win in exciting game vs Sheriff
Real Sociedad maintained their perfect start to the Europa League as they coasted past Sheriff. They beat Manchester United and Omonia and they are looking likely to book their ticket for the knockout round. Thanks to goals in the second half from David Silva and Aritz Elustondo La Real was able to ease past Sheriff Real Sociedad is currently in seventh right now in La Liga and things are looking very good for La Real. La Real faces Sheriff again and if they beat them they will secure a place in the knockout round. Sheriff reached the Champions League last season and did the incredible by beating the Champions Real Madrid 2-1. If Sheriff are to do anything special in the Europa League they are going to need to find inspiration from that game in the Bernabeu.
Betis edges Roma in the last few minutes
Real Betis defeated AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico for their third consecutive Europe League win. Betis could possibly clinch a knockout spot if they defeat AS Roma again. This was a game where Betis had to fight till the end to get the result they wanted. Dybala gave Roma the lead after 34 minutes and they would be hoping that his goal would give them confidence to win their second game.It did not take long for Guido Rodriguez to find the leveler for Betis five minutes before halftime. With few minutes to go Luiz Henrique won it for Betis helping them edge a game that could have gone either way. Now AS Roma have it all to do as they are in third place. The Italians will be without Nicolo Zaniolo who got sent off in the match.
Arsenal eases past Bodo/Glimt to continue their strong start to the season
Arsenal faced Bodo/Glimt where they eased to a 3-0 win thanks to goals from Nketiah, Holding and Viera. It saw Arsenal claim their second win in the Europa League. Arsenal is really looking like a team that is going to return to the Champions League next season considering the form they are in. Out of 10 games this season they have won nine which is impressive compared to last season. Whereas Bodo/Glimt will be hoping take points away from Arsenal in the next game. They are currently tied with PSV but PSV are ahead on goal difference. Bodo/Glimt had reached the play-off round against Dinamo Zagreb this season in the UCL. They took the lead in the first leg but then squandered it by losing 4-2 on aggregate. They made the quarter finals of the Conference League and will go for the knockout round of the Europa League.
