These are teams with star studded squads and will definitely go all out this summer.
Will USWNT defend their title
USWNT team is stacked with great players and their squad just keeps growing. They will go into this World Cup confidently knowing that they won two consecutive World Cups. USWNT are bidding to become the first team ever to win the title for the third straight time. They also won the Concacaf Championship beating their rivals Canada. They also have a star studded squad with Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, Mallory Pugh and others. Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe will want to retain her golden boot title and guide USWNT to another victory. Sophie Smith will be making her World Cup debut and will definitely want to get some goals. The young American won MVP as well as the championship for Portland Thorns last season.
The Three Lionesses buzzing with Confidence
England will be buzzing with confidence going into the World Cup after winning the Euros. Kelly’s goal in extra time secured the win for England. They also managed to beat World Cup favorites USWNT 2-1 in a friendly. The Three Lionesses have also never won a World Cup or reached a final. They will be keen to go into this tournament knowing they have plenty of goalscorers like Kirby, Mead and White. Ellen White was joint top scorer with Rapinoe and Morgan last time around. England have a relatively easy group with Denmark, China and could face Senegal, Haiti or Chile. The furthest England has gone is third place and they will definitely want to change that.
Can La Roja shock USA and England
Spain go into this World Cup knowing they also have not won a Womens World Cup before. They boast the likes of Jennifer Hermoso and Alexia Putellas who are goal scoring machines. Alexia Putellas and Jennifer Hermoso helped FC Barcelona to a Champions League title and they won both best midfielder and best attacker. They also guided FC Barcelona to a final against Lyon. Alexia Putellas managed to win the ballondor two times in a row. Spain will want to leave their disappointing Euro campaign behind them after going out in the quarter finals. They will be confident however after beating the favorites USWNT 2-1 in a friendly. Putellas will be hoping to put her troublesome injuries behind her and deliver the goods for Spain.
