Barcelona take big step towards La Liga
Barcelona got the better of Los Blancos yet again to put themselves 12 points ahead in the EL Clasico. Real Madrid is very unlikely to get back into this contest considering the gap at the top and considering the amount of games left. Barcelona managed to beat Los Merengues three times this year. Real Madrid will have an opportunity to get back at Barcelona in the second leg of the Copa del Rey.
Barcelona finally manage to lock in their defense
FC Barcelona go into the international break in the best possible way having beat their bitter rivals Real Madrid in La Liga. The Blaugrana have enjoyed arguably the best La Liga campaign they ever have had. Barcelona have found a way to finally locked in their defense by only conceding 8 goals. Over the years they have been known for being weak defensively conceding many goals from open play. They have only drawn 2 games and lost two. Their only two difficult remaining fixtures will be against Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad. FC Barcelona looks on course to win the domestic treble this season which they have never won before.
Real Madrid can consider themselves out of La Liga after FC Barcelona defeat
Real Madrid will have to put all their hope into the Champions League and the Copa del Rey because that is all they have left. Los Merengues’s hopes of getting La Liga from the Blaugrana faded away after they lost 2-1 at the Nou Camp. Asensio had a goal ruled out in the 82nd minute for an offside. It was a tight situation that could have easily gone the other way. Real Madrid still have a second leg at the Nou Camp and luckily for them they are no away goal rules. Real Madrid lost the first leg 1-0 through a Militao own goal but will be determined to turn the tie around. Los Blancos have a clash with Chelsea on the 12th of April and on the 18th of April. They are favorites entering this clash and will want to progress as far as possible.
