Messi to increase MLS viewers
Lionel Messi manages to seal a move to Inter Miami where he will compete in the MLS next season. The likes of Al-Hilal, FC Barcelona and other European clubs were competing for the signature of the Argentine. Messi will leave Europe after competing there since 2004. The 2023-24 season will be the first without Messi and Ronaldo.
How a Barcelona move failed
The Argentine maestro was heavily linked with a move to FC Barcelona but the Catalans never made a move. Jorge Messi who is Messi’s father and agent claimed that they never received an offer from the Blaugrana. Messi had also claimed that he never wanted to experience what he did when he left FC Barcelona as one of his reasons. This will come as a major blow for the Culers who planned to get rid of a number of players in order to make way for Messi. However the Blaugrana will now have to look for other options elsewhere.
What Messi will bring to MLS
Messi’s Inter Miami move includes him having a role in Apple and Adidas. This will come as exciting news to many Inter Miami fans as there has been ongoing speculation about him moving. Messi will have a huge task at hand as Inter Miami is 15th in the Eastern Conference. Messi will be joined by Josef Martinez who the club also signed and is known as a prolific scorer in MLS. It will be interesting to see how Messi performs and what rivalry will form out of the MLS. The likes of Insigne, Chicharito, Vela and many other are all going to be exciting to watch.
