Manchester City took on Burnley as they opened up their premier league. City picked up exactly where they left off as they got a comfortable 3-0 victory over Vincent Kompany’s Burnley. Despite Kompany learning from Guardiola he still proved that he is no match for the Spanish tactician. Kompany has a managerial debut to forget
Burnley had a debut to forget as they began their campaign with a loss against Manchester City. The Clarets secured promotion after coming in first place under the management of Kompany. The Norwegian opened the scoring after Rodri headed the ball into his path which he ended up slotting in the low bottom corner. His second goal was even better as Alvarez played the ball into his path which he struck in the top corner. Then Rodri added a third goal to close off the game and give Manchester City the three points. City will now prepare to face Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup at the Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus Greece.
