Champions: AC Milan misery, Man City just fine, Feyenoord on disgrace

Champions

Champions League returned with a bang after the international break. Once again Europe’s finest competition produced some amazing moments. It was filled with drama, heartbreak and goals galore.

Futbol Mundial brings you some of the best games that took place during the first half of the Champions League week five games.

The first game that will definitely make headlines and cause debate between football fans was Paris Saint Germain vs Newcastle. This tie ended in a 1-1 draw but the scoreline does not tell the whole story.

On the Parisien side they will feel that they could have secured all the three points considering all the their chances. Les Parisiens a total of 31 strikes on goal but could not find the net until the injury time. H

owever on the Magpies side they will feel they should have also come away with the three points. Many could argue Livramento accidentally made contact with the ball on his arm.

Newcastle will definitely feel robbed as a win could have definitely had them at 7 points and in the top 2 of their Champions League group.

Dortmund piled more misery on AC Milan whose defeat sent them to last place. Die Borussen victory secured knockout stage football for next year.

They will be hoping to stay in first place so they can secure an easier draw in the Champions League round of 16. On the other hand the Rossoneri have a mountain to climb. They face Newcastle who are in desperate need of a result and are at home. Milan had hope once Chukwueze fired home to equalize for the Italian giants on the verge of half-time.

Manchester City who are already through to the knockout stages faced a first half. Lois Openda fired home twice in the 13th and 33rd minute to give Leipzig a good lead over the Champions League winners. Haaland then got them back into the game with a strike from close range. Phil Foden then equalized to bring Manchester City level and have them chasing a third goal. The Cityzens did get another scare through Carvalho who had put the ball in the back of the net only to have it ruled out for offside. The Champions League winners would eventually get their much desired winner through Julian Alvarez who wrapped up the game.
