A growing connection between the Premier League and the U.S.
The presence of English clubs in the U.S. continues to strengthen, with three of the participating teams having American ownership. Everton recently transitioned to ownership under The Friedkin Group, while Manchester United remains under the Glazer familyâs control. Bournemouth is owned by William Foley, who also owns the NHLâs Vegas Golden Knights.
Adding to the American influence, U.S. international midfielder Tyler Adams is currently playing his first season with Bournemouth, contributing three assists in 17 games.
Evertonâs James Tarkowski expressed excitement about the tour, stating, âBeing a part of this series is super exciting for us as players and the team. We know there are plenty of fans out there when we get there in the summer.â
What to Expect from the Premier League Summer Series
The 2023 edition of the Summer Series featured six teamsâAston Villa, Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion, Chelsea, Fulham, and Newcastle Unitedâplaying nine matches across five different venues. Chelsea emerged as the standout team, winning the series with two victories and a draw.
According to NBC analyst Tim Howard, last yearâs tournament provided valuable insights for the season ahead:
âThe manager has very little time to get everybody on the same page, implement ideas, lay the groundwork from a fitness, tactical, and technical standpoint. All that work is going to be used throughout the season.â
The 2025 Summer Series promises high-intensity preseason action, with all six matches streaming live on Peacock and two airing on NBC. For Premier League fans in the U.S., this is a golden opportunity to witness top-tier English football up close before the new season kicks off.
