Necaxa shocks León, Querétaro secures home victory against Mazatlán

The 12th matchday of the Liga MX season began with victories for Necaxa and Querétaro, who defeated León and Mazatlán, respectively.

The first goal of the night came in Aguascalientes, where Johan Rojas opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a stunning long-range shot, putting Necaxa ahead 1-0.

Meanwhile, at Estadio CorregidoraRodrigo Bogarín scored his first goal of the season for Querétaro, giving the Gallos Blancos an early lead against Mazatlán.

Intense action and red cards shape both matches

Just 10 minutes after taking the lead, Necaxa was reduced to 10 men when Alejandro Andrade received a red card, leaving the home side with a numerical disadvantage.

Back at Estadio Victoria, Necaxa’s top scorer Diber Cambindo made his mark in the 34th minute, netting his 11th goal of the tournament and extending Necaxa’s lead.

In the second half, the match in Querétaro turned chaotic. Within a span of just three minutes, two players saw red cards—first, Rodrigo Bogarín for Querétaro, followed by Mauro Lainez of Mazatlán, leaving both teams with 10 men each for the remainder of the game.

Thrilling finale in Aguascalientes

In the 75th minute, Jhonder Cádiz pulled one back for León, making it 2-1 and setting up a dramatic finish at Estadio Victoria. Despite León’s efforts, Necaxa held on to secure a crucial victory.

With these results, Necaxa moves into the playoff positions, while Querétaro strengthens its standing in 14th place, staying in contention for the postseason.
