So hopefully for the end of season and FIFA Club World Cup he will be ready. pic.twitter.com/N8acuLgkYS
As Man City thought that things could not get any worse they have lost their star striker in Haaland. The Norwegian goal machine is their top scorer with 30 goals in all competitions. An injury for him also rules out any chance of him regaining the Golden Boot. City was already at a disadvantage by the loss of Rodri and Haaland just piles more misery on them
Injuries pile misery on City
This has been far from the season expected from Man City. The Blues arrived at the start if the campaign with high hopes of besting the elite amongst Europe. However now their expectations have now taken a completely different turn with them now fighting to even be in the Champions League next season. Ever since the loss of Rodri who provided protection for their backline and was a solid playmaker they just have not looked themselves. They had gone a whole month without winning a game and that even put their qualification of the Champions League at risk. They managed to just scrape by against Club Brugge narrowly securing qualification. Nico Gonzalez was brought as an emergency signing to provide a little bit of what they were missing from Rodri. However his impact so far has proved to be minimal for Man City
City will need to turn their fortunes around
To emphasize how bad Man City’s season was they got humbled at the hands of Real Madrid getting thrashed 6-3 on aggregate in the playoffs. To make things worse they got annihilated by Arsenal and Spurs losing 5-1 and 4-0 respectively. Mistaked that define games, an ageing sqaud, injuries and an over reliance on Haaland have all contributed to their poor season. Man City have spent less than other top clubs in recent years in the transfer window ranking in sixth for spending in recent years. They will have to change that if they are to turn their fortunes around next season. Several players they could once rely will need replacing and KDB is one of those notable names who may need to make way. Wirtz of leverkusen could be the perfect replacement for him as he is known for his passing ability and handling the ball in tight spaces.
