PSG demolish Aston Villa
PSG are one step closer to the semi finals as they overturned a 1-0 deficit to gain a commanding victory against Aston Villa. The Parisiens are looking towards a second consecutive semi final and already have one foot in the last four. Goals from Doue, Kvaratskhelia and Mendes were enough to give the French Giants the win on the night. PSG came into this tie already full of confidence after securing yet another Ligue 1 title on the weekend.
PSG attacking dominance too much for Villa
The future is looking bright for PSG as they have produced an all round solid team display. This is not something that has been common for the French Giants as before it was all about individual stars. They endured a frustrating two years getting knocked out twice in a row in the last 16 even with Messi, Neymar and Mbappé. Luis Enrique has managed to set up a team that is solid in counter attacks, dominate possession as well overload. PSG will be away from home in the second leg and will want to finish the job and secure a place in the semis.
Villa have had a promising season despite loss
Aston Villa will give themselves a pat on the back for how far they have come this season in the Champions League. The last two seasons have been revolutionary under Unai Emery as he secured a top four spot last season. Despite taking the lead through Rogers Villa were unable to contain PSG over 90 minutes. Aston Villa will be dreaming of a comeback in the return leg but it will be hard to see how they beat a dominant PSG side. Aston Villa currently sit in 7th place in the premier league and will want to finish off their season on a high note. They will also be looking to lift their trophy in 29 years by securing the FA Cup.
