Messi wants to spend more seasons in Europe but that may prove to be more difficult than most people think. FC Barcelona needs to get rid of a good amount of their wages in order to afford Lionel Messi. Al-Hilal seems to be the favorite to sign the little genius however nobody ever knows in football.

Al-Hilal are lining up a 400 million a year move for Lionel Messi to move to the Middle East. It would also reunite the rivalry of Messi vs Ronaldo. Many thought that the friendly between Messi and Ronaldo in January would be the last between the two stars who defined an era. PSG took on an All Star team in which Ronaldo featured in where PSG won 5-4. His move to Al Hilal would also make him the highest paid soccer player currently. It would be a move that would definitely boost Saudi Arabian football as it could see other players like Kante, Modric and Firmino follow. Al Hilal’s recent big achievement was winning the AFC Champions League and making the Club World Cup final.

Messi’s move to FC Barcelona is a move that the world of football would want to see. FC Barcelona’s financial problems saw Messi leave the club in 2021. He joined PSG where he endured a frustrating first season as he only scored 11 goals in all competitions. If they are to make a move happen they will have to knock off a good amount players off their wage bill. It is a move however that could bring back the idea of Messidependencia which could set the club back. It will also have Xavi having to reconsider his formation and how he plays.
